Robert C. Vaughan, the founding president of the Virginia Foundation for
the Humanities (now Virginia Humanities) died 6 March 2019. During a
43-year tenure he probably did more for the humanities in Virginia, very
broadly defined, than any other person. A funeral will be held Wednesday
afternoon in Charlottesville.
