The Friends of Fairfax County Archaeology and Cultural Resources (FOFA) will
meet this Saturday, January 5,
at 10:00 a.m. in the Urbanites Room of the James Lee Community Center, 2855
Annandale Road, Falls Church.
Archaeologist Todd Surovell, Interim Director of the Frison Institute of
Anthropology at the University of Wyoming,
will speak. In the Dukha Ethnoarchaeological Project he employs time lapse
photography and photogrammetry to map
spatial distribution of activity areas at living sites of nomadic reindeer
herders. The information gained and maps created
are used to inform interpretation of archaeological sites.
