Thanks for the hints.  I may not be looking at the index correctly since
I didn't see an "index" reel and used what was written at the front of
the reel for that year bracket book.  I know what Scott was saying about
Grantor versus Grantee and have used that index with success before but
don't seem to be the same system at the front of the book I looked under
covering 1811 (had several years in the book).  Just the From-To index.
I am going to have to take more time and se if I can locate it.  Was
there nearly 4 hours finding only a couple pieces of information as it
is.

I have found instances in which deeds for Richmond city property were
not recorded in the deed books, including a deed for a property that
Thomas Jefferson once owned. Remember that both Henrico County and
Richmond City had deed books, and both should be checked.
