Does anyone know when the first African-American Presbyterian church was
established in Virginia?

According to an article in the Lynchburg (VA) Daily News, dated 11 February
1879, "the first colored Presbyterian church established in Virginia" was
Central Presbyterian Church, located on Clay Street in Lynchburg and
organized in 1879.

Is there any truth to this claim?
