There is a list of United States prisoners who were incarcerated in the Virginia Penitentiary. It is House Document 55, Report of the Superintendent of the Penitentiary relative to United States Prisoners, 1857-1858, dated 26 January 1858. The report lists United States prisoners imprisoned in the Penitentiary of Virginia (1804-1857) [name, crime, when received, sentences, where sentenced, when discharged, pardoned or died]. This report is located in the 1857-1858 Virginia House of Delegates Documents. While the Journal of the House of Delegates is online, I couldn't find the Documents. The Library of Virginia has microfilmed some of these reports (LVA Film 1063). The reels may be available via Interlibrary loan.
