Dear friends and colleagues,

I'm serving as a judge for this program. Grants are no-strings-
attached. Application is easy.

This summer, EMC Corporation(www.emc.com) launched the EMC Heritage
Trust Project, a new program designed to recognize and support
digital stewardship of the world’s information heritage—in local
communities. (See http://www.emc.com/about/destination/
information_heritage/heritage_trust/ )

Using the same criteria for excellence that guide the EMC
Information Heritage Initiative (see http://www.emc.com/about/
destination/information_heritage/index.jsp) EMC now seeks people and
projects that practice and inspire stewardship locally.

The awards consist of cash grants from $5,000 to $15,000 made to:

local libraries, museums, or historical society collections
significant private collections of music, letters, or art
archives and records of local cultural or educational institutions
and businesses
Any local organization or institution (public or private) or any
individual actively engaged in stewardship of the world’s information
heritage may apply—or be nominated—for recognition and support.

	For more details see http://www.emc.com/about/destination/
information_heritage/heritage_trust/

Download the application/nomination form and instructions
Deadline for applications/nominations is November 30, 2007
Applications and nominations will be reviewed by a distinguished
committee chaired by Daniel S. Morrow, chief historian emeritus and
founding executive director, Computerworld Smithsonian Awards and
Computerworld Honors Program. Mr. Morrow is also a member of the
Board of Visitors, School of Information and Library Science,
University of North Carolina.
Judging will be completed by January 30, 2008, with awardees notified
by February 14, 2008
