Each year, the Valentine Richmond History Center asks residents of the
Richmond region to nominate a worthy individual or organization as a Richmond
History Maker. Nominees are contributing to a higher quality of life for people
in their communities and can be making a difference in a variety ways. History
Makers are ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and are recognized in
one of the following categories:

Promoting Stronger Communities
Demonstrating Innovative Solutions
Fostering Regional Cooperation
Improving Social Justice
Creating Quality Educational Opportunities

Nominees may be individuals or organizations and do NOT have to be non-
profit or all volunteer. Nominees must be living, agree to publicity for
themselves or their organization, and are honored at a gala event at the
History Center on October 20, 2009. Previous nominees may be resubmitted.

Nominations are due by June 30th. Visit www.richmondhistorymakers.com to
nominate a History Maker online!

Profiles of previous honorees and further details are available on the website.

The Richmond History Makers program is presented by Dominion.
