Diana,
You can find runaway ads for slaves, indentured servants, and military,
all on that excellent website.
http://www.uvawise.edu/history/runaways/
Kudos to Professor Costa for putting together a most useful database,
and for expanding it (upcoming) to 19th c. runaway ads.
Also if you are into researching period clothing, these ads give
extremely detailed descriptions of clothing, down to the button styles,
as well as physical attributes. It is fun just browsing the ads and
trying to develop a mental picture of the person described. The database
is an invaluable tool in many aspects.
