Hi, all--
I just wanted to send out a message to the VA-HIST list to publicly
thank all of those who worked so hard to create a fantastic first
Virginia Forum this past weekend. Most especially, my colleagues here
at Monticello and I thank Warren Hofstra and Brent Tarter for their
vision and for their tireless efforts to bring this idea to fruition and
to make this event such a success.
I'm very glad to know that we will be carrying on with the Forum, and
encourage everybody from the list--academics, librarians, independent
researchers, teachers, museum personnel, historic site personnel, and
more--who couldn't go this year to consider attending next year's event.
It provides us a wonderful opportunity to continue developing a network
of interpreters of Virginia history from a variety of perspectives.
We look forward to many more years of fruitful discussion!
Cheers,
--Eric
