Twilight at Monticello: The Final Years of Thomas Jefferson by Alan Pell
Crawford
Time: Noon–1 PM
Place: The Library of Virginia
The Library of Virginia is pleased to announce that Alan Pell Crawford will be
with us to discuss and sign his new book, Twilight at Monticello:The Final
Years of Jefferson, on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Noon. In his latest work,
Crawford paints an authoritative and deeply moving portrait of Thomas
Jefferson as private citizen–the first original depiction of the man in more than
a generation. A resident scholar at the International Center for Jefferson
Studies at Monticello in 2003, Crawford uses historical information from a
variety of personal letters, documents and newspaper clippings to paint a
detailed portrait of Jefferson in retirement.
This event is free to the public.
The Library of Virginia is located at 800 East Broad Street in downtown
Richmond. A limited amount of free parking is available under the building.
