Wonderful idea.  I wish I could be there.

Let me request that they play and sing ONCE TO EVERY MAN AND NATION.  What a
stirring statement!!!  The wimps took James Russell Lowell's stirring call 
to duty out of the 1940 hymnal and only the
tune remains in the 1982 hymnals, but I have left instructions, along with 
brass-band arrangements, that it be played at my funeral!

In the strife of truth with falsehood, for the good or evil side....."

"Though the cause of evil prosper, yet the truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold, and upon the throne be wrong;

Oh, I know JRL wrote it as a protest against the US war with Mexico, but 
that just adds fuel to the fire of "doing what is right".

Subject: [VA-HIST] Special Veterans Day Salute at Historic St. John's Church


A special Veterans Day Salute will be held Sunday, November 11 at historic
St. John's Church with free tickets being distributed at the front door
starting at 1 pm.  This National Historic Landmark was the setting of the
1775 Second Virginia Convention and Patrick Henry's pivotal resolution to
raise a militia to defend the colony.  The church, built in 1741, became a
living memorial to liberty when Virginia's Founders including George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, and Peyton Randolph
gathered at the church to plan a course of action in March of 1775.  This
was where Patrick Henry uttered his famous, "give me liberty or give me
death" speech.  The special salute welcomes veterans and active duty as well
as civillians, their friends and family for the patriotic concert of
military anthems to each of the armed services.  Music will be played on the
1890s Adam Stein organ by Music Director and Choir Master Bob Copeland.
Then guests will be transported back in time to the Second Virginia
Convention and see a revolution in the making.  This is free and open to the
public, however seating is limited, so early arrival is suggested.
Donations are encouraged.  Parking is available on the streets surrounding
