In celebration of the 266th birthday of President Thomas Jefferson, on April 13, 2009 in the Jefferson Room of the Virginia Commonwealth Capitol in Richmond, the Thomas Jefferson Heritage Society ( www.tjheritage.org ) was honored by a Joint Resolution and presented by Senator John Watkins for the research being carried out by that organization. The resolution reads in part, "t he General Assembly's admiration for the organization's many efforts to promote patriotism and educate citizens about the achievements of one of our nation's greatest founding fathers."
