I would like to post this announcement for those who may be interested
in attending this summer's Teacher's Institute.

America's Defining Conflict: Through the Eyes of Soldiers, Slaves and
Women

2009 Summer Teachers Institute

July 6 - 10

Sponsored by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and funded as
part of the
We the People initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities

This year's Institute will explore the Civil War from the perspectives
of ordinary people-soldiers, slaves, and women-fighting, living, and
dying in a nation embroiled in war. The registration fee of $110 covers
lunch each day, the notebook, and all sessions and tours. Stipends of
$110 are available to all Virginia teachers. Registration will remain
open until the Institute is filled. For more information, call
804-649-1861 ext. 21 or go to www.moc.org/teachersinstitute .
