? The (probably just some) 1810 federal census has a column for
quantity of cloth. What was the unit of measure? Would this be the
quantity of cloth made in the household??
? Would this be all cloth or just certain fabrics??
----
There is a mention of measure on this page
http://www.archives.ncdcr.gov/FindingAids/Circulars/AIC2.pdf
[Fig. 2. Example of an 1810 census return. Manufacturing queries on the right refer to homespun (looms, quantity in yards annually made in each family, value in dollars), spirits (stills, quantity annually in each distillery, value in dollars), and all other manufactures not noted.]

Subject: [VA-HIST] 1810 census quantity of cloth
Many thanks to those of you, Pat, Brent, Doug, who responded to my
question re the 1810 census and I shall follow up on the suggestions.?

To refresh, here is my original post:?

I must admit that I first came across this column in the 1810 Granville
Co NC census and should have first queried an N.C. list.?
?
In that census, one family member had 100 "quantity of cloth" and 1 loom
while another had 350 "quantity of cloth."?
?
This or a similar question seems to have been asked on the 1810 Brooke
Co W/VA census.?
?
Thanks again, Judy Gabor?
