This message extends more into contemporary politics than is safe,
considering how outspoken some Va-Hist subscribers tend to be, but I
will post it, anyway. That does not mean that I will post any
intemperate replies, either in agreement or in opposition.

I have deleted the long message to which it is in response and the
electronic noise that came with it. If anybody privately wonders what
kind of electronic noise sometimes appears in messages to the list
(material that I cannot delete without creating a new message like this
that appears to come from me), I will provide examples.

The War of Northern Aggression was in fact the final armed arugument
between the Federalsit and Anti-Federalist. Virginia might have voted
Union Constitutionl but when Linclon called for 75,000 to invade the
south he drove Virginia into Session. The arguements continue today; the
Democrat part is a part of extreme Federalism while the Republican party
shows signs of Anti-Federalist position.

I believe, as did a great number of the founders, that "the government
that governs lest, governs best." The "Tea Parties" of yesterday, across
the Commonwealth and across the Republic is a repudiation of the
Congress as it stands. Look at it's approval ratings. Patrick Henry
would have a thing to say about the course our Commonwealth and Republic
have taken since the Constitution was written.

As one writer wrote yesterday, the orginial concept of nullification or
session began in New England. The governement chose to negotiate not
mobilize.

Respectfully,
