Museum Education Specialist
Responsibilities include scheduling all student group tours, maintaining group records and mailing lists, guiding tours through the Museum and White House of the Confederacy and presenting interactive programs; Also responsible for planning and implementing home school days and family fun days, creating lessons plans and supplemental materials for teachers and students and aiding the Educational Programs Coordinator with the annual Teachers Institute as well as other special events throughout the year such as Girl Scout Badge Days and Court End Christmas. Occasional weekend days and evenings are required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are necessary along with organizational ability, computer proficiency, flexibility and a good team player; and other duties as assigned;
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts in History, Education, Museum Studies or similar curriculum; 1-2 years of experience in museum education, education, and/or in the museum field preferred;
Desired start date: February 26, 2010;
