As we prepare to extol our English heritage with the celebration of thr 400th anniversary of Jamestowne, I recall a wonderful little book by James Branch Cabell poking fun at us Virginians, and noting (that at the time he wrote it) very little of Jamestowne had been found, and that the Spanish in St. Augustine were there about 30 years earlier. But my brain goes into netural at that point.
I cannot recall the name of the book, but I think it was reprinted by the UVa press sometime in the last 6 or 8 years. Does anybody remember, and is it still available?
Randy Cabell
