I want to thank everyone who answered my question on compass reading as used in land surveying.
Each had a little different approach which gave me an opportunity to look at the problem from
several angles.  I've gained a lot of knowledge by reading the questions submitted, and answers
given, on a number of subjects on this list.  Getting the answer to this question was especially
important to me.
