The Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society is hosting its 3rd
annual Leedstown Resolutions on Friday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m.
at the King Conservation Center in Menokin (near Warsaw in Richmond
County.)
This year's program will focus on the history of the community of
Leedstown, the contents of the Resolutions (1776), and the story of
the signers with special focus on signers Francis Lightfoot Lee and
Moore Fauntleroy.
The program is offered to the public at no charge.
What, you may ask, are the Leedstown Resolutions?
This was one of the first resolutions by American colonists in
opposition to the Stamp Act and open rebellion against Great Britain
leading up to the Revolution. The resolutions were signed by number
of Northern Neck patriots.
