I looked the date up on a website other than the Va. Tourism one mentioned.  Settlers reached Berkeley Hundred in Dec. 1619 and that was when they celebrated the first official Thanksgiving in the New World.  The Plantation was decimated in the Massacre of 1622, but it survived.
