Dear John:
What unit was he in? Infantry, cavalry or artillery? CSA Jamestown Naval
Flotilla? Do you have any oral history/timeline as to what day he was
captured? That may be easier to trace than trying to track him down by name. It
probably was somewhere between Richmond/Petersburg and Appomattox. judging from
the dates, but that encompasses at least a half dozen counties and numerous
towns!
