The lack of a stone and an unknown burial place aren't really that unusual.
Many in Virginia during that time period were buried in family cemeteries
that have since been razed over and had only field stones as markers.

If Sally is perceived to be a person of interest why do we not read in the
newspapers of the time her death announcement? Why do the Hemings NOT know
where her grave is? Why didn't they have a grave marker for this important
person?
