Hi Jessica
I am not familiar with Madison's map of 1805 but have you tried the Fire
Insurance Maps held by the Library of Va.? We found some buildings in
nearby Petersburg listed as far back as 1820 on those maps and they are
still standing today. I am sure they have similar maps for Richmond. They
give building purpose and size along with policy number and details of
construction and value.
