A word of hearty gratitude to the Library's reference and
inter-library-loan personnel for timely responses to queries and requests
during their forced closing. Like many other historians, genealogists,
students, and writers, the inconvenience of LVA's closure during this
pandemic testifies to our profound dependence upon a great institution and
it's remarkable collections.
We look forward to visiting in person when safety permits. I've tucked a
mask, hand-sanitizer, and a couple of gloves in with my laptop, USB sticks,
and accumulated notes. And in the meantime I want to give a shout-out to
LVA for arranging off-site access to JSTOR and similar data bases.
Stay safe so y'all can welcome us when the guidelines permit and all
suitable precautions have been taken. And THANK YOU for everything that it
was easy to take for granted before COVID-19 began it's rampage.
