I am hoping someone can help guide me to any early photographs or sketches...
Our house built in 1812 by Capt. Charles Wills located in Church Hill - on the border of old Shed Town area in Richmond, VA (now on N. 27th between Marshall and Clay), seems to be devoid of a photographic record of any sorts. I believe it was touched upon in the past that most all history "North of Broad" especially in this area, was skipped over in records outside of the Mutual Assurance policies (no drawings except footprint) or the Sanborn maps (doesn't show up until c.1905). There is a c. 1932 photo of the house on a tax assessment card and even the Valentine museum doesn't have but some vague snapshot of the house in its folder despite the house's size, age, and history.
I am wondering if there are other sources that may have older photos? Or sketches of the house, neighborhood, or even scenic that captures this block where the house stands?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Eric
