Last September I said I would let the list know when my short piece on Jefferson and black education appeared in print. I’m happy to do so now.

Those whose sharp eyes pick out some problems with apostrophes, commas, and periods, as well as ordering issues in the Works Cited and indentation problems in notes 2 and 6: the printers ignored my proof corrections. Sigh. The most serious problem is in note 2 where the quotation from Woodson starts with “could not but feel.”
