In working on a score for Sousa's stirring march, HANDS ACROSS THE SEA, I was much surprised to find that it was dedicated to among other groups the Virginia Tech Regimental Band. That is most interesting. Does anybody know the story behind that dedication? The march was written in 1899.
It is a stirring march and I suggest it as one more composition to play at band concerts to honor Virginia Tech.
