I saw the Brown name several times, on my ancestors military records.
He was in the Revolutionary war, and his file mentions a Brown Rives,
who (I believe), filed documents in Richmond. Also, there was an
attorney named Brown who assisted my ancestors, when they filed a Land
claim for bounty land. This was about 1834, and this Brown was in
Richmond (where my ancestor lived at the time). I wanted to know who
they were because the names popped up several times in my research. I
know that my ancestor, Charles Lewis owned warehouses at Rocketts
Landing in Richmond, and I thought maybe Brown & Rives did business
with him.

I appreciate the information you shared with me.

There are many William Brown's and James Brown's in Virginia. Believe
me, I
am a Brown researcher and I have many in my own line. Therefore, can
you
tell us specifically which ones they are? Birth, death, marriage dates,
etc. Someone may be able to find them in their lineage for you if you
give
them more info.

Sincerely,
Lonny J. (Brown) Watro
