Every local placename pronunciation that the citizens of one

The street in downtown NYC correctly pronounced HOUSE-ton street
is named after the man named HUGH-ston. allegedly because immigrant students
came home and told their parents who did not speak English that "h-o-u-s"
was pronounced "house".
