Just a heads up to let you know that the Fairfax County Library will be
closed Monday July 3 and Tuesday July 4. So if you are planning to use
the Virginia Room come in on Saturday (10-5) or Sunday (12-6) when we
will be open.

Subject: Fairfax County Employee Holiday Approved for Monday, July 3,
2006

To facilitate planning, I wanted to notify everyone right away of an
action taken this morning by the Board of Supervisors at their regularly
scheduled meeting. At this year's Sneak Peek for Celebrate Fairfax, a
number of individual Fairfax County employees reminded Chairman Gerry
Connolly that July 3 fell on a Monday this year, immediately prior to
the federal holiday of Independence Day on Tuesday. After consulting
with his counterpart at the schools, Chairman Ilryong Moon, they agreed
to bring the issue up with their respective Boards.

So today, Chairman Connolly jointly with Supervisor Penny Gross, made a
motion that the Board direct the county executive to declare Monday,
July 3, 2006 a holiday for Fairfax County employees, so that both July 3
and 4, 2006 will be part of the County's Independence Day observance.
The motion was unanimously approved by all Board members present.
