Thanks, Brent. You are the first respondent giving me this much specific information .
I'll keep you informed in the event we find something that could spark you memory.
Don't hesitate to contact me if something comes to mind in the meantime.

Many years ago I wrote a short article about the episode of the *Shoreham* and
the capture of the pirates. See Brent Tarter, "'Leave 'Em Hanging . . .
Till They Rot': Pirates in the Chesapeake, 1700," *Virginia Cavalcade* 32
(1983): 172-183.
The Virginia records in the case are published in George H. Reese,
ed., *Proceedings
in the Court of Vice-Admiralty of Virginia, 1698-1775* (Richmond: Virginia
State Library, 1983), beginning on page 25. A series of trials later took
place in London.
I no longer have the notes for my article, but I recall eventually finding
records of the London trials of several captured men. I somehow found them
using the indexes to the Virginia Colonial Records Project, which were then
not yet available online. The London trial records are in Latin.
Good luck,
Brent Tarter
