Thanks - what you have seen is a sign about is the Indian fight that McDowell
was killed in.  He was buried near Fairfield, and his cemetery has just been
spruced up quite a bit.  the Kerrs Creek Massacre occurred just after the French
and Indian War in Rockbridge County west of Lexington at US 60 and I-64.
