Mr. Tarter, does this cover only those who want to re-argue the
paternity question in futile, tedious efforts to persuade their
unpersuadable opponents, or does it _also_ apply more widely to those of
us who are not trying to do that, but who do believe that we see
legitimate other dimensions of Hemings-TJ that warrant discussion? I
hope it's not a baby-and-bathwater thing, in other words. In any case, I
hope I may complete and distribute my response to Mr. Kukla's generously
offered second message about the historiographical dimension that I
engage, the authority of science in the Hemings-TJ debate. Thanks.
