There were separate sleeping areas for the men and women, separated by
a red velvet curtain. Other amenities included a toilet for women in
the bow and a toilet for men at the stern (not off the stern). The
women's toilet compartment was 18" wide! There was apparently a mirror
for grooming, as well as a communal hairbrush and a communal toothbrush.

Packet service went from Richmond to Lexington and I think beyond
Lynchburg all the way up the James River to Buchanan where the canal
ended.
