There's a nice summary of the fall of Charleston in the Revolutionary War
(along with a comparison to the related events as depicted in the film _The
Patriot_) at this site:
http://www.patriotresource.com/battles/charleston.html
And there's a nice summary of the fall of Charleston in the Civil War at
this site:
http://www.awod.com/gallery/probono/cwchas/evac.html
I was not previously familiar with either site, but they appear fairly
thorough. At the very least they might do as starting points.
