Hi everyone:
I don't usually find things to pass on, but -- yes, I had this virus on
my hard drive. You may want to check yours. Doesn't take that much time.

>I received a message tonight about this virus from a person who has my
>e-mail address on her computer. We checked and found that it was on my
>computer so it's been deleted from there, but we're following the
>directions about notifying everyone on my e-mail list. Sorry for the
>trouble.

>This is the message:
>A virus has been passed on to my computer by a contact. My address book
>may be in turn infected (it was). Since you are in my address book, there
>is a good chance that you will find it in your computer too.
>
>The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or McAfee
>Anti-virus system. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the
>system. It is sent automatically by messenger and the address book,
>whether or not you sent e-mails to your contacts.
>
>Here's how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it.
>
>Go to start. Find or Search Option in the file/folders option, type the
>name: jdbgmgr.exe Be sure to search your C: drive AND ALL SUBFOLDERS, and
>any other drives you may have.
>Click "find now"
>The Virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN IT
>Go to edit on the menu bar, choose "select all" to highlight the site
>without opening it.
>Now go to the file (on the menu bar) and select delete. It will then go to
>the recycle bin. Then dump your recycle bin.
>
>If you find the virus, you must contact all the people in your address book
>so they can eradicate it in their own address book.
>
>To do this:
>Open a new e-mail message
>Click on the icon of the address book next to the "to"
>Highlight every name and add to "BCC"
>Copy this message, enter the subject, paste to e-mail and send.
>
>We are sorry for the inconvenience.
