Try again, Jurretta. The link worked when I clicked it. --Joanne

My apologies for posting a link in my last message to a page that has
been taken down in the two days since I accessed it.
The page was a recent paper by Philip D. Morgan on GW and slavery, in
which he takes a more somber view of GW's attitudes and actions than
Henry does but states that GW's writings don't seem to indicate any
belief in black inferiority. The paper was not to be quoted or cited
without the author's written permission, terms I took to refer to
scholarly publication and very much hope I haven't violated on this
list.
It's an important, if brief, addition to the conversation on this
topic, and one can only hope that Dr. Morgan will revise it for print
publication in the near future, as perhaps its disappearance indicates
he plans to do.
Best wishes--
