Members of the list will be interested in a fine new history of black students, staff, and faculty at William and Mary,, Building on the Legacy: African-Americans at William & Mary, An Illustrated History of 50 Years and Beyond, by Jacquelyn Y. McLendon. It includes a brief essay by Jody Allen on the College and slavery.
For reasons I don’t understand the boot so far appears to be available only through the College bookstore:
