On the Civil War issue:
The 1st and only General: Stand Watie (Cherokee)
Watie, whose Indian name was Degataga, became a colonel in the
Confederate Army in 1861, and raised the Cherokee Regiment of Mounted
Rifles to drive pro-Northern Cherokees to Kansas under his command.
Watie's regiment later fought in 18 battles and made many raids behind
Union lines. He was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General on May
6, 1864 and given the command of the first Indian Brigade. Watie
surrendered on June 23, 1865, the last Confederate general to lay down
arms.

Becoming a grandmother is wonderful. One moment you're just a mother.
The next you are all-wise and prehistoric.

Grandchildren don't stay young forever, which is good because
