A merchant in the Knoxville, Tennessee, Gazette of February 11, 1794
announced the arrival of a shipment of goods “from the Philadelphia
market; all of which they will sell . . . on moderate terms for corn,
rye, oats, bees wax, flax, old congress money, and Martin’s
certificates.”
Does anyone know what "Martin's certificates" were?
