I had hoped that this was not the point of your message.  It is a sad
commentary.  Does not the line of reason demand that you contextualize
all bad things in relation to the calender?  How many tragic victims of
violence on Christmas Day (what way to celebrate Jesus and "Peace on
Earth") or July 4 (what way to celebrate independence) or...whatever.

The victim was a passanger in the car, not the driver.  The Juneteenth  
"celebrants" dragged him out of the car and beat him to death.  What a 
celebration 
of release from slavery.
