At the end of Surry County Order Book, 1775-1785 are 49 numbered pages
containing the Faulcon & Company accounts of goods & freight shipped through
Mount Airy between 15 December 1776 and November 1779.
In these accounts are a number of references to "salt taken by the mob"
including an entry on 13 Aug 1777 "for Jacob Faulcon's Expences at Suffolk
in settling for the Salt taken by the Mob."
Is there anyone who knows what incident this refers to?
Does anyone know where Mount Airy was?
Thanks
