FRIENDS OF THE VIRGINIA STATE ARCHIVES
18TH ANNUAL SLATTEN LECTURE
SEPTEMBER 30, 2017
8:30 am to 3:30 pm
The Friends of the Virginia State Archives will present the annual Richard Slatten Lecture as part of its annual meeting to be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Library of Virginia. 800 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA, with registration commencing at 8:30 am. Dr. Michael D.Lacopo will deliver four lectures drawing on his many years of research. A self-described "all-American mutt," Dr. Lacopo has developed an enthusiastic following based on his informative and entertaining presentations. He employs problem-solving approaches utilizing social history, female research, and family analysis to identify erroneous research, find ancestors who "came from nowhere," explain the immigrant experience, and make the maximum use of overlooked resources.
Registration fees are $35 for members of the Friends or $50 for non-members and include a box lunch. The deadline for registration is September 25, 2017. For additional information, call 804-741-0136 or e-mail [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
