One of the greatest pleasures of being an archivist is discovering the
unexpected and the unusual. Occasionally the strangest things will pop
up while processing the county records. Today's bog post relates how one
archivist found a map on the siege of Veracruz tucked away in the Amelia
County court records. How did the map find its way to the Amelia County
courthouse? We may never know, but it's fascinating to contemplate.
