Debate Guidance And Other Pontifical Nonsense
"Everyone one has a right to his own opinion. They do not have a right to their own set of facts." - Senator Dodd
Belief: No one owns a fact. A fact stands alone - on it own - belonging to no one. It cannot be a fact if it's not.
"Most ignorance is vincible. We don't know because we don't want to know." - Aldous Huxley
"It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." - Mark
Twain
To know: Belief: there are only two ways to know a fact; (a) to have personally experienced it (you actually
dissected the frog in biology class); and , (b) you learned it from another (and mostly from way back in time - it's
called recorded history - a invention of man obliquely learned from observing nature; and, can appear quite hazy
and out of focus owing to the natural fallibility of man - "if men were angels..." and all that jazz.).
Belief: never argue a man's belief's, only his facts; and, it far, far better to shout at one another than to shoot
at one another.
And finally, the most efficient, effective way to counter and stifle an Internet "annoyance", including this one,
is to hit the "delete" button instead of the "reply" button.
With that, I'll "butt" out.
