Does anyone know what the fertility rate in Virginia was in the 18th
century?
The 18th century Mennonite minister John Rhodes and his wife
Catherine , who lived in the Shenandoah Valley, had 12 children.
Their son MIchael and his wife Ann had 9. Was this average in
Virginia for the time period?
The 18th century Canadian fertility rate was 10.8 (source given
below) I haven't seen a statistic for Virginia.
