With due deference (and apologies) to Ms. Donald, I'm reminded of the
"story" which I related to a colleague from Northern Virginia just yesterday, a
propos as she's working on 19th century Rockbridge County history. It appears
that in the mid 1950s a visitor to the campus of Washington & Lee was shown
the Lee Chapel, identified (correctly) as an Episcopal chapel. The visitor
protested, "But I though all Episcopal churches were named for saints." The
guide said, "Oh, but it is!"
