A letter has been circulating on the internet that claims that the 16th
Amendment was never ratified. It claims that Secretary Knox basically
falsified the results of the individual states' ratifications. Specifically,
the letter claims that Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas, and Lousiana were claimed
as having ratified the amendment when, in fact they had not. Can this be
true? Obviously, the consequences would be enormous, as Federal Income Tax
would then be voluntary, not compulsory. If someone has studied this, I would
appreciate going to www.givemeliberty.org/features/taxes/notratified.htm and
debunk these allegations.
