Good Morning,
You are very welcome. I think I can speak for others in that we are happy to help. In most cases, genealogists are the most friendly and helpful bunch in the world.
I will make an attempt here.... Elizabeth's dowry (gift of land brought in to her marriage either with Thomas or maybe a previous husband) contained land conveyed to her on March 10, 1723. So if you looked in the 1723 deed book or comparable record book, there is probably a deed/agreement giving land to either Elizabeth or her husband. It might even be in a will (probably her father's). Look for the surnames of Elizabeth's maiden name and Collup.
So she basically is giving up her claim to the land given to her in 1723. Not knowing the family genealogy.... Robert Hall is probably her brother/family relative that she gave land to which in turn was meant for her. Her husband probably didn’t want or need Elizabeth's land. She might have been helping her younger brother/family relative.
That is my read of the passage...
Sincerely,
Troy Valos

Subject: [VA-HIST] Genealogy Question
I want to thank those who answered my previous question re the use of "Boarder" for "room & board" in a City Directory. They clearly answered my question. This forum is an infinite source of knowledge.
I'll try again-New Question: what does "-----Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Collup appeared in court to relinquish dower right to Robert Hall in land conveyed March 10, 1723" mean? (in PG County records)
Thanks
