Given the success of this wonderful magazine over its long and illustrious
history, I would have thought that instead of merely closing it, other
options should have been explored like privatization, part-privatization
(contracting out the commerical side to a history-focused magazine publisher
like Primedia?), sponsorship or other private funding.

"Virginia is for Lovers of History" -- oh well, those were the days
